Textile roof constructions on cruise ships set visible architectural accents and serve to improve the quality of stay by creating shaded areas. From a structural design point of view, the structures are highly demanding, as they have to withstand the highest wind loads and at the same time their design has to be carefully matched to dynamic influences from the ship's environment. On the AIDA Nova, the new flagship of the HELIOS class, several structures will be erected in various uses. Our contribution is to optimize the planned structures and to develop a unifying design language.
