Bischofshöhe observation tower

Observation tower made of glulam lamellas and tubular steel platforms

The Cospuden Landscape Park was created from the renaturation and flooding of a former brown coal mining area south of Leipzig. Along the shore zone, a series of objects with emblematic character were realised as striking landmarks. One of these is a 35 m high observation tower made of glulam lamellas and tubular steel platforms. The tower gets its torsional stiffness from a crosswise diagonal bracing of the glulam lamellas.
