In order to be able to use the pool deck in a variety of ways on the ships of the new expedition class of the Hapag Lloyd shipping line, it was equipped with a two-part, convertible roof of 165 m² each, thus offering two partial and one complete roofing option. Since the task had to be solved with extremely low weight, only a textile solution was considered. A particularly robust technical construction was found for use in tropical and arctic waters.
