Munich Artists' House

Yard roofing

The centrally raisable membrane roof can be stretched under the protective roof parked in the north-west corner of the courtyard within a few minutes at the push of a button. Protected by the 200 m² roof surface made of a highly translucent Tenara PTFE membrane, the open-air cultural programme can take place regardless of the weather. Six radially arranged rail and cable axes are used to drive the roof in a fan shape over the yard area by a centrally located motor unit.
