Hamburg-Ohlsdorf Swimming Pool

Textile false ceiling

The new replacement building for the swimming pool in Hamburg Ohlsdorf lines up the children's pool, the course pool and the diving and swimming pool lengthwise. The ceiling is covered along the entire length of the building by folded, textile-covered aluminium frames, which give the room a clear and bright surface finish at the top and do not allow a direct view of the ceiling construction. In addition, the elements provide effective damping of the sound level. AR-Ingenieure carried out the workshop planning of the suspended ceiling to the roof structure for the different bathing zones. Despite the clear basic geometry, 63 different elements with 7 different suspension constructions were created by planning the frames according to measurements. The suspension points were individually adapted to the existing ceiling sag in order to compensate for it. Through the consistent use of parametrically supported 3D planning, this task could be reliably processed during production.
