Refurbishment jump tower
Solid reinforced concrete skeleton construction
The diving tower was built in 1936 as a reinforced concrete frame construction. In 2005, large areas of the concrete cover showed signs of spalling. The exposed reinforcement showed clear corrosion. It was therefore necessary to record the geometry and reinforcement of the diving platform and to reassess its stability for future use. Concrete strength and corbonation depth were tested on site. The rehabilitation measure comprised the removal of the concrete cover with a high-pressure water jet and the restoration of the original cross section in shotcrete.
