Stage roof
Four basket arches made of round steel tubes, inclined in a double VV, span the stage area and the orchestra pit with a total roof area of 750 m² with a span of 27 m. A permanently installed steel pre-rigg is suspended from the supporting structure underneath the roof membrane, which allows the changing stage constellations to be attached with high flexibility in a short time. The cable routing integrated into the supporting structure ensures a tidy overall impression of the construction. The stage represents the first construction phase of an optional roofing of the entire area with a changeable roofing.
Due to the large clearance gauge required for the stage, the roofing was realised by a sloping, mutually bracing basket arch construction in tubular steel.
The roof surface is spanned within the supporting steel structure by a textile membrane. The arches are braced with ropes, on the one hand to slim the structure and on the other hand to provide the sophisticated stage technology with variable usable connection points. For the roof surface a resistant PVC polyester membrane type IV is used, which can safely absorb the high snow loads of the region. The tensile strength of a 1 m wide strip of this fabric is up to 150 kN with a material thickness of only 1.1 mm. As planned, the roofing of the stage could be used for the first time at the beginning of the 2014 summer season.
